Synergo is the advanced and innovative technology for the treatment of superficial bladder cancer.
The treatment is based on the controlled hyperthermia of the superficial layerof the bladder walls,
along with instillations of the bladder with a chemotherapeutic substance (MMC).
At the heart of the Synergo System is a 915 MHz RF generator that heats the bladder
walls to an optimal temperature via an intravesical antenna that is an integral
component of the Synergo transurethral catheter. Via the catheter, a small peristaltic
pump circulates the chemotherapeutic solution between the bladder and a
drug reservoir.
The catheter also contains thermocouples that monitor thermally-regulated
temperatures at the superficial layer of both the bladder walls and the urethra.
The information is transmitted to an embedded computer driven by Synergo proprietary
software that monitors and controls all system functions. The computer is equipped
with a keyboard and a touchscreen monitor, and interfaces with data acquisition
modules that enable all treatment parameters to be tracked and analyzed.
